Lindsey & Gary : Dreamy St. Croix Elopement on the North Shore
Last Tuesday with Lindsey & Gary. In true elopement fashion, Lindsey reached out to me less than two weeks before their trip to St. Croix. The trip was originally planned to celebrate their birthdays, but they decided to elope along the way. We hustled to submit the marriage license application, decided on locations, booked hair & makeup, officiant and videographer. And then Linds somehow managed to get this Grace Loves Lace dress all the way from Australia in time. The stars aligned with these too and I freaking loved being a part of it!
These two completely trusted me to plan their day and creatively capture everything along the way. As cameras continue to move further into the extra sharp and highly digitized world, I find myself being drawn more and more to the filmy photos. To the blurry, messy and perfectly imperfect ones. Adding grain to soften the frame, like a memory that’s just out of reach. These images strike something that the tack sharp ones just don’t. They seem to inch a little bit closer to how it felt at the time. I love mixing in a few of these photos within each gallery and I get a little kick whenever I see my clients sharing these shots over the perfectly focused ones.
