Kelley grew up on St. Croix so we have a ton of mutual friends on island. She and Matt had a trip scheduled to come visit her family for the Christmas holidays and Matt decided this was the perfect time to propose! It was a last minute scramble, but one of my friends put me and Matt in touch and we made it happen. Matt proposed privately at the beginning of their trip and surprised Kelley by already having the engagement photo shoot booked with me for later in the week.

Kelley’s family home is on the East End of the island, so we decided to shoot at sunrise out on the very east edge of the island. I looove shooting on the East End in the winter time. Sunrise is especially beautiful – the sun lights up the cactuses, the hills are glowing with green and golden grass, the wind is in full force which just adds to the vibe, and you’re the only ones out there that early in the morning. This point is one of my favorites on St. Croix – with two different types of beaches, a hillside trail, windy road and views for days. Scroll through to check out their St. Croix engagement photos!
